if you arent referring to the inline 3.0L six twin turbo,
the lexus 4.0L motor is called a 1uzfe
The hz would've been a rear sump yes? I believe a mid sump soarer v8 would go in...i dont know of a 1uz "rear" sump as such. The Crown has a front sump though.

firstly
2jz is a straight 6
the engine your talking about is a 1UZFE 4L quad cam V8
unfortunately the 1uzfe only came out in auto so you would have to find a custom bellhousing or get one made up - no biggie
nah mixin brands is alright as long as ur not putting holden shit into a toyota
theres a 1uzfe VL in my area which seems to go pretty hard.
what do i think? go for it.

shouldnt be a problem. Id go measuring the soarer sumps before you make a conclusion you need a custom jobbie

There's a half finished HZ ute+1UZ sitting in the backyard - one day I'll actually finish the bloody thing!

Yeah it's fitted and going - involved a bit of stuffing around though. Made up a sump to fit, made our own engine mounts, and took to the trans tunnel with the oxy torch. However, for an easier fit, give castlemaine rod shop a call - they make a lot of parts to make this conversion much easier.

there's a HQ-looking ute with a lexus V8 in it in the latest Unique Cars mag
i don't know the rules in WA, but considering the 1UZ-FE is both later model and of similar capacity (250) to other V8s which people are allowed to put in (253, 304, 308, 350, etc) i don't think you'll have a problem. check the website of your registration authority or call an automotive engineering signatory
