Changing Headlight in '86 Corona wagon

me mum bought this car earlier in the year, but just recently the right hand side headlamp blew. tried tonite to get the old lamp out and put a new one in, but it's being a stubborn old thing, and wondering if there is ne easy way to di it lol
i know there's a retaining clip, wich i managed to un-hook, but the globe itself seems welded into the socket.
