Painting the lettering on tyres

Hi,
I've seen a couple of cars with the tyre details painted white on their tyre.
Is this something people do? I didn't think tyres normally have this painted on them, except "Desert" tyres (and the like) of the large 4WD vehicles - which I always assumed came on the tyre.
Do you paint in the "Goodyear" or "Michelin" etc on your tyres?
Is this a ghey, ricer thing to do?

i used to have to paint the kelly springfields on my RA40. u can buy a texter pen for it from any auto store $11.
its a pain in the arse and u have to take the tyres off to do it cause the pen doesnt work well upright.
otherwise u can buy some rubber like bridgestone eagers that already have the white lettering.
ive always been a fan of white lettering on tyres no matter the profile.

But your rears are 265's! They are big enough in width to make up for the lack of diameter.

i got the white lettering on my bridgestone eagers on my white ma61, looks great, old school (for a supra)
anyway, the best bit is that its not actually paint- the inside of the tyre is white, and they press it out. if you rubbed the whole tyre back, you'd have a whitewall
if the white gets dirty, you use some light sandpaper to rub it back, and hey presto, its white again.
they look tough. ive got pics in members rides if you care that much

You might wanna double check that 'grippyness' of the Eager.
They are a bogan tyre, designed for bogans (hence they retain the white writing).
They are far from a performance tyre, and Bridgestone has much better tyres on offer, but they don't have white writing

yes, im sure my mums daily needs $300 per tyre tyres, at the moment we're getting rid of the eagers slowly with the bobjane all rounders, they grip good too!

in no way is it ghey.
my old ma61 tyres used to have it (on the stock rims)
big, chunky white lettering on fat tyres looks great.
white writing on thin tyres (<225) makes it look like a vintage car
and if the profile is low, I reckon it's homo too.
