I posted the RT104 18RG conv. post yesterday.
A few tech questions
what type of power can realistically be extracted from the first gen 18RG.
What type of brake upgrade can be performed.
This one might be weird, but why does nobody on toymods have RT104's is there something {like spontaneous exploding} that i dont know about.
Thanx Phil

Ive got a first gen RT104.
AFAIK there was 3 different looking RT104s.
I quite like it... cleaned up, they can look quite cool.
Also has a nice eninge bay, lots of room.
I think the main thing thats put me off doing anything with it is the fact that the rear suspension is really quite bad.
I dont think a cars rear suspension can get any simpler than the setup on the RT104.
Getting it up to scratch would take a fair bit of money and a lot of work.
You can expect around 110hp for your average 18R-G and its relatives (18R-GU, 18R-GEU).
I really havnt heard about what mods give what power.

Factory power output for a first-gen 18R-G is around the 140hp mark. Where did you get 110hp from? Even the later-model emissions-choked versions have more power than that!

This is my old 77 RT104, this is the exact shape i want, is this called a series 1/2/3 or something like that, maybe generation.
Don't know why but as soon as we sold it we wanted it back , it was the slowet piece of crap in the world {0-100 in 38 seconds} . Was a mad drifter tho, hook it into a wet corner and it just kept sliding {controlled too}. Sold it to some hick from woodridge for $400

1 - The first coronas had only the indicator in the front bumper, and the parking lights with the head lights (18R engine).
2 - Had the parkers with the indicators in the front bumper (18R-C).
3 - Had the same as 2, with a bulge in the front of the bonnet with a huge radiator grill (18R-C).
