Dukes of Hazzard on TV1 (Foxtel)

Reading the Batman thread made me think of posting this..
Has anyone else noticed that TV1 are showing The Dukes of Hazzard on Wednesday nights this month? They had the first episode last week (introducing all the characters and such) which was pretty cheesey, but still - I couldn't stop grinning the whole way through! This show was probably THE biggest influence on my love of cars when I was growing up!
I though the General Lee was by far the COOLEST car ever, and they did absolutely everything in it in the show at some stage.. Burnouts, sideways action, jumps over cop cars, jumps over rivers, driving on two wheels etc.. The list just goes on!
So is this an old favourite of anyone else, or am I alone and should crawl back into my corner?
PS - Daisy Duke has DAMN fine legs

dukes of hazard also rates high on the scale of ass kickery, and cable is also good for naked news and all the other softcore porn it has on late at night (they need a masturbating emoticon)

Actually, you can have tyres screech on dirt roads. I have witnessed it personally. I think its mainly on hard packed surfaces.

Hi,
I love the General Lee also! I think those big V8 American muscle cars of the late 60's/early 70's were some of the best looking cars ever.
Did you know, at the time, that Daisy had her legs insured for $2million dollars! I think I'd chop off a leg to get the money.
Now, what I want to see is the "Bulgarian Cossacks of Budapest" version. Big, tough, Bulgarian weightlifting chicks cruising around in a hotted-up V8 Ford Transit van. Now, that'd be something way cool. Maybe even a Merlin-powered T54 army tank!!!
Hell! I'm gonna write to the Russian embassy and ask if they've ever done a show like this. If not, why not! Maybe I can start a new TV show. One that will ooze class like puss from a boil.
I'd even make sure one of the chicks had red hair, just to please EvilJack!

They show Pimp my Ride on Foxtel ????!!
Awesome!
And here I am downloading every single episode like a sucker... not that I can afford foxtel, but I can probably get mates to record it. I didn't think it was shown in Aus.
By the way, does anyone have a bittorrent to episode 16?

Ohh Josh, ya gotta loan me that DVD.
I lived for the dukes of Hazzard when I was a kid. My first car was a Valiant Charger (almost a dodge charger) and I seriously considered painting it dayglow orange. I even managed to get it airborn on the odd occasion.
Daisy was my second love. (Princess Layer was the first), Except at the age of 7, I think the general was higher up the wish list.
I'm all for seeing a new Dukes of Hazzard but if they update the General Lee, it will be getting a big thumbs down from me.
The other movie recently had all the original characters in it. Daisy was 50 something and still wearing short shorts. Everyone had aged somewhat but the general still looked mighty fine.
Did anyone hear the roumer that Bill Cosby bought the rights to the Dukes of Hazzard so that it wouldn't be shown on TV again. Supposedly he thought it Racist cos the only time you saw an African American in it they were bad guys. I guess brandishing the confederate flag didn't help either.

Lol.. The Confederate flag on the General still looks cool. The one hanging in the back window of the ute at the Caravan Park we stayed in was just plain scary..
