Was in a busy part of the outer city last night, just came out of a bar with mates and we decided to head to the casino. I had to turn right at a T section and then immiediately left at an intersection. I did a little quick start leaving the sounds of screeching tires and the perfect purr that is a 4agze. We were comming out of a dark/small street but then ofcourse I realised the intersection was packed with onlookers and as I took the left turn... engine still high-revving ofcourse there was a cop car sitting right there (opposite side of road). The cop blipped his siren and yelled. "Oi Dont do it!" To which to my total amazement I just gave him the thumbs up and rolled past.

Embarassed

Its funny because I never do that sort of thing in busy areas. And this area is renowned for people doing 'laps' with doof doof. I totally cant believe the cops didnt simply chuck a U-turn and book my ass!! Cool bloke I guess.

So I thought i was having a lucky night until ofcourse I lost all my $ at the casino and came out to find my car egged!!! (well other cars were worse) mine just had one.... Damn losers.

That's cool. I had an incident last night on a certain road north of Sydney, where all I got was a "slow down" flash of the high beams, even though I was clearly going WAY over the limit. I still punched it even harder all the way back anyways.

yeah I was out tonight and on the main drag they have reduced the speed limit from 70 to 60 for this floriade festival, I didn't realise, so I was cruising around at about 73, when a cop pulled along side me (I thought ohh crap I'm busted) but he put his hand out the window, signaled down, and yelled "slow down buddy" so I slowed, gave a thumbs up and he proceeded upto about 80 Confused I was greatful he didn't book me anyways Smile

after washing my car at the jetwash at 2:00 am sunday morning i gave the supra about half throttle and the rears started to light up a little.. the arse got a little twitchy, as they do.

i thought nothing of it, and kept cruisin to see the red and blue lights flashing in the mirror. pulled over and my car was impounded for 48 hours under the new QLD hoon legislation Confused

guess i deserved it,

if i get pulled over for "hooning" a second time i lose my car for three months Shocked

the only thing that really sucks is now i have to appear in court on thursday.

i'd like to know how you go from an engine that needed a few hours spent replacing the timing belt, to a full blown rebuild that needs a motec now garth!

That's the story of my DIY-mechanic life Smile

I'm scared to think that my GT4's dash is dirty or something for fear of the full rebuild consequences.

In the last two double demerit point weekends we have had i have been let off twice by the cops.

the first one was when i came round a corner into a one way street and gave it a bit. got to 70 in a 60 zone and as i go past a side street i see a cop pull out and the lights go on so i pull over. one officer asks to see my lisense and the other walks around looking at my car. as one goes back to the car to check my lisense the other cop gets me to start my car cause of my exhaust. in the end i got told to be more carefull when it is double demerits and got let off.

the next time i was turning left into a street then wanted to turn right straight away. i go off a bit quick and as i turn left i get wheelspin into second. i look back and see some cops and the lights go on so i pull over. same thing happens bout the exhaust and my lisense but again i get let off with a warning.

as you can expect i have now had the exhaust checked and it is right on the limit.

i now have real respect for cops cause as long as you arent a dickhead to them they can be quite reasonable.

BTW at the time i was on my red P's and the car i own is a ta22 with extractors, 2inch exhaust with single hot dog and 4 inch canon

old engine > decided to replace rather than rebuild the crappy one
old loom > when we took the engine out, we had to move the loom, no doubt the extra movement stretched/ripped the old crappy loom so i decided to replace that

if your going to rewire an engine bay, you only wanna do it once, so i figured get the motec, since then tho, ive changed my mind, bit of overkill for a streetcar. Smile
