all you need is a VSR kit, bearing and ring kit and freshen it up then.
Unless your going all out with a high reving big hp NA motor, i wouldnt change the pistons or anything.

Heya Simon..
Do ya know where i can call / go to get get the rebuild kit ?
I'm hoping to later run... 260 - 270 deg cams.. and get a decent 155 - 160 hp out of the thing. Thats the target. So i guess it might be pulling close to 8k .. often.
Will this kit do the job?
Thanks fella..

if i remember right....The bearings are about $65-$75, ARP bolts are about $100 (good investment if you want to rev the thing)
Both of those you can get from rocket.
As for your seals and gaskets, the guy who did all my machine work and built my engine got those but you can get them from a lot of places. Depends where you are?
There is a place in west ryde called brookers that can get them.
Duncan and foster should be able to help you out as well.
To be honest all of the stuff you need wont cost you much at all. If you can put the engine together yourself it will cost even less.
Having said that my theory is this " I never want to pull this engine out of my car again so i might as well do it all now "
For the sake of a couple of hundred bucks why wouldnt you?
thats my opinion anyway
Good luck with it all.

I just noticed you are in perth so i doubt you will be going past ryde any time soon
Try rocket industries for the gaskets too. You never know your luck.
