where does this bolt go?.....18r-g Tue, 21 September 2004 10:47 Go to next message
have been puttin my 18r-g back together and cant figure out wherethis bolt goes. it has 14mm head, 10mm diametre, bout 10mm of thread and a copper washer.

sorry Sad nope. it seems to be from somewhere important seeing as it has a copper washer. maybe a oil bung for somewhere. im worried there is gunna be conseguences if i dont find a home 4 it

the only thing i could think of is gearbox drain or filler? cant remember if they are 14s though

not to plug a water fitting on the thermostat housing?

thanx......yeah it is from the motor becoz im puttin it back together and every bolt i took off i put in a glad clip top bag.
anyway, ill have another look again when i finish puttin it back together ...(waitin on head gasket, valve stem seals, cam cover gasket)

Might be the one that goes on the block just above the idler sprocket. It blocks off the hole that is usually taken up by the upper chain squirter nozzel on the 18r-c.

im with jason. Goes just above the oil pump drive shaft. Blocks a hole that goes up to the top of the block. also is used to hold the backing plate of the timing case to the block. I also had this prob with mine but sorted it easily enough.
