i wanna put a 2tg-eu into my ta22, will the 2tg-eu be able to use the standard gearbox from the 2t?
is the exhaust maifold the same, cause i have genies on the 2t and need to know if i can still keep them to use on the 2tg-eu.
any input would be appreciated

the gearbox will bolt straight up to the 2tg..... the engine mounts will be exactly the same also, and the exhuast will bolt up to the 2tg aswell.. the only things I can think of for doin a 2T -> 2TG conversion is getting a new top radiator hose.. and an electric fuel pump, depending on carby set-up.....
any more questions feel free to ask.....

If the engine has carbs it will use a mechanical fuel pump, the same as the original 2T. However if it's a 2T-GEU with the original EFI intact you'll need a high-pressure EFI pump and there will be other EFI-related complications (wiring etc).
If it is a twin-carb engine the only other mod I can think of is the throttle linkage. If you're lucky enough to find an original twin-carb throttle linkage from a TA22 you're set, as it will just bolt in - otherwise you have to convert to a cable linkage.

all of the carby 2TG's that I have had all used a low pressure electric fuel pump, the mechanical one had been blanked off. but yeah, depends on what you get

Interesting, every 2T-G I've seen (including my old one) had a mechanical pump. Perhaps the later models switched to an electric pump?
