KE25/KE70 Coilovers Mon, 27 September 2004 01:32 Go to next message
I have the following parts avilable for a KE20/25

- FRONT HEIGHT ADJUSTABLE COILOVERS. These are on celica/KE70 (not sure) struts converted to suit a KE20/25. They include the larger brakes and calipers from the celica. The springs are 175 lbs. King springs. I will also include a FRONT SWAY BAR (18mm)
$370 ONO

- 4 SPEED GEARBOX QUICKSHIFT. Excellent condition. $90 ONO

haha just when i get my car going with custom front springs and ke70 brakes Razz however i do have some cash to spare

what inserts do the struts have?
have the struts been shortened any?
can you measure the two mounting holes at the base of the strut (center to center)?
what is the diameter of the disc brake?
what is the part number on the brake pads?

is the quickshift just a shifter or the whole gearbox? if it's for a "four speed", how is this different to a five speed if at all? as i've swapped shifters between K40 and K50 gearboxes before? got a photo of it? even if i don't get the struts, i'll definately get this if it fits my stuff

Super Jamie

I don't know what inserts are in the struts, but i think they are bilsteins.

I don't know if the struts have been shortened, but they are about 44cm from the base of the strut to where the insert goes in.

the two mounting holes at the base are 80mm from centre to centre.

the disc brake is about 21-22cm in diamter and they aren't vented.

I don't know the part number of the brake pads.

the quickshift came of the original 4 speed that was in my KE25, so I don't know if it fits a 5 speed,, but if you have swapped shifters between the 4 and 5, i guess that it would work.

just a a note, original KE20 discs ae 200mm diameter, KE30 discs are 218mm diameter and 10mm thick, KE70 discs are 218mm adn 12.5mm thick.
the calipers kinda look like ke70 calipers to me?

what is quick shift about the shifter? shorter top or longer bottom?

the rounded flange is KE20 K40 style. is a different flange to the KE30 and KE10 type. is the rod support at the rear of the base of the shifter still there?

The discs would be 218mm diameter... The discs are around 11mm thick, so i guess they could be KE70 items that have been machined. So the braking setup is probably from a KE70

I just had a look at the shifter and the rod support is still there, but it is cracked and probably needs to be welded.

i thought the brakes looked like ke70 items as well, if you pull the caliper off and the pads are DB1086s or 1087s then this is true. so no advantage there

might pass it up, i can get a coilover kit and springs for the same price, and i can't be bothered changing to ae86 power steer arms and ball joints at the moment, i'll just modify the ae86 struts i have under mum's house and use those brakes

not real keen on cracked parts either

thanks anyway
