That's insane. I was very confused when I first saw the engine and thought "hang on, that's an XR6 engine!"
I knew they had potential, but that's pretty crazy.

whenever its in a car you look at the engine bay after 1 drive.. everything within a few paint(paint included) has just melted and shrivelled away
bring on the massive cooling system
thats awesome work

WOW!!!! Now that is impressive!! 2.2l i think its says, but an 18rg based 1000hp, thats coooool even if there is no actual 18rg left in it. would love to know more details on the motor. It looks like they are running some funky cooling system straight out of the head (the brass fittings between the exhaust ports??)

It's actually 2.3l. Block and head are original Toyota items, everything else is custom made. 1000hp @ 2.2bar. Hestec injection and ignition systems(like 90% of Finnish racing cars ). Holset / Pro Eloranta Racing turbo.
Same guys have this "street" Celica which is 18R-GTE powered too. IIRC It has around 800HP.

I thought that the brass fittings in between the exhaust ports were pick up points for the dry sump.

I'm tipping the brass fittings on the exhaust side are oil drains, the big shiny one in the middle of the top of the head is for cooling.
