I've got invites to give out too if anyone is interested.
I like GMail, it's by far the best webmail interface around IMO. The threading is a huge time saver.
And being able to click back to your inbox without needing to hit the server is great!

You can mount your GMail account as a drive under Linux.
You can use your GMail account as a blog.
There's a Firefox extension which allows you to write GMail emails from any web page's mailto link.

Fuckin' tell me about it... simon is 5 letters.
BUT, molina was taken, so I assume simon and nark would definitely be. There were some really obscure combinations that were taken... eg: smolina, s.molina, simonster (I was trying to make two words link together but there aren't many cool "mon..." words)

Yay. 1 gig storage in 5 meg increments. </sarchasm>
Anyone know HOW they do it? Its quite ingenious. They store all files in a central location, and simply put a pointer from your email to it. So they're not storing 80million dancing babies etc. they only store 1.
Thats why they keep the limit low, otherwise it wouldn't work (as well).

when my inbox gets full i just transfer my inbox contents to my HDD

The only thing I like about it is it's very fast compared to hotmail for loading. Probably because it's a nice bling free functional interface with no ads. (for the moment anyway).
But as for storage, that's just stupid really. While you're wasting MB's and time on your internet account transferring shit back and forth, I can just use the (current) 122GB of local SATA RAID0 storage I have free right now. Makes gmail 1GB look like a DSDD floppy disk running in a SS drive in comparison.
