Toymods, along with the Canberra Celica Group (CCG) is going to Batemans Bay!
2004 - ToyMods Camping and Go Kart trip

Main Details of the Event are:

When: Friday, 5th November until Sunday 7th Nov
Venue: Riverbreeze Caravan Park, Moruya
Location: Batemans Bay region, 300km south of Sydney
Cost: $15-50p/nite, go Karts $TBA

Well really it's a trip to Moruya, about 30km south of Batemans Bay, for a weekend of camping, socialising, GRASS GO KARTS, partying and maybe even some canoes!
We will be staying in the Riverbreeze caravan park, on the north side of the Moruya River http://www.riverbreeze.com.au/ in Moruya.

The Witzl will personally be leaving Sydney at 9am, Friday 5th Nov. He will organise a little group cruise down for those who want to leave in the morning, so watch this thread for details.

The basic plan for the weekend is to meet down at the caravan park friday night, but you can arrive saturday morning if that suits you better. We will be hitting up the grass go karts on Saturday, apparently these are awesome fun as they arent all that fast - but the grass is oiled, so it's UBER DORIFTO go karts!

We might also, time permitting, get our hands on some canoes for us all to have a go on and muck around on the water. There is also a boat ramp, so if you are that way inclined you can bring your own boat!

Saturday night is up to you entirely, there is a pub not even 50m from the front of the caravan park, there is a river about 15m from the camping sites, there is a recreation and communal kitchen room and of course, Toymods!

Sunday will be a little lazier, as we will have to pack up in the morning and check out of the caravan park. Most likely we will go for a bite to eat in town, then drive casually back up the Princess Hwy to Sydney and home.

A Few things to remember:
# There is a noise cerfew at 10pm in the caravan park, so please respect other guests and take it to the pub (50m away) or keep it in the recreation room.
# Canoes are being investigated, will advise once more is known
# Information on Go Karts is pending, will advise

Caravan Park Layout Information:

Click Here for layout pic (~500k)

From this you can see where all the camping sites are, and see that there are a few villas available up near the end. It would be good to get the whole end under Toymods, but villa needs to be booked individually.

Caravan Park Costs

Click for price list

For the drive down i would recommend taking the Princess HWY, its a nicer drive and will take you about 4 hours depending on your speed and rest stops. You can go via Canberra, but from Canberra its almost 2 hours worth of country roads, which arent the best - along with a SCARY mountain descent! It would be OK on the return trip though.

See you all there kiddies!
Go Toymods!

Karl W.

PLEASE EMAIL karl@toymods.org.au for any details, confirmation that you are going, or anything else you might need.

A big thanks to Karl and Toobs for going and checking out the location for this one.

I'm in, I'm in.

I'll be cruising down Friday morning.

Pub 50m away, river 15m away.
Excellant, get blind drunk, miss the camp site & drown Razz

And I'm going to rough it with a non powered site.

From what I've read, these don't have to be booked in advance?
How big are the camp sites? ie how many people can fit on one? Evil or Very Mad

But anyway it would be a good idea to book even if it is an unpowered site so we are all close together Smile

booking powered sites is required, booking unpowered is not really.

The unpowered "area" is just that - camp whereever there is no real boundaries i think.... ill have another chat to the guys down there soon.

Josh - what room?

Where's your sense of adventure?? Laughing The clyde mountain descent is the best part! Cool

The corolla panelvan is a bit short for me (plus surge tank & pumps get in the way), so i'll round up the canberra guys and see what to do about accommodation.

if you need any specific details about accomodation - just assk me dude, i have it all here Smile

NOTE:

If anyone wants to book a camping site, just tell me which number and i will have it reserved for you. Each site can take about 2-3 tents and 1-2 cars, so there is PLENTY of room. Remember if someone already has a site, and there is not much left, just share!

I will probably book all of sites 108-115 for now, just to have the resevered for toymods use, if you want one of those just let me know.

THe owner has said we are free to park in the unpowered sites if we run out of room at no extra cost, so dont worry about parking issues.

ohhh Stitt.... Heart Laughing
Just make sure you borrow that red top from Mel.

I will have my wagon too, sleeping in mine can be a pain, not only coz the back seat doesn't fold flat, but because you can't open the tailgate from the inside, so escaping in a hurry isn't an option.

We will get the word out to our CCG brethren and see how many of the gang we can get to show. We will have a huge turn out just for day trips but will see what we can do about accommodation as im guessing your guys will swamp the place. I have stayed there many times over the years. If the pub is tooooo rowdy then we can just stagger over the bridge into Moruya and into another pub...Whoooohooo!

Mitch - i doubt we will be covering the ENTIRE place - there is a SHEDLOAD of unpowered camping space, along with about 12 powered sites which could easily fit 5 people comfily... as well as all the villas you can see in the park layout picture.

If your guys want to definitely have space, i can reserve some for you Smile

Luke my old mate. If its half as much fun as the Nats then we will all have to have Monday off to recover! Lots of interest hear drom the CCG with even more new faces for the 'short' trip. As usual it all happens in a flurry just prior to any event so we will just keep in touch. Look forward to another great event!

Ok, i have booked the powered sites 111-108 (furthest away from the main caravan park).

This means that whoever wants to camp on the powered sites can just use that space i have booked and pay when you get there. Basic costs for that are $80 for 8 people per night, and $8 for any person on top of that - spread out however you like!

Contact me if you are camping so i can add you to TEH LIST.

Ben,

I'll resist the temptation to comment on how ruff she really likes it Wink J/K

Deposit is $40 for the Spa Villa's. There are only 4 Villa's with Spas. You will be wanting Villa 107 assuming it is still available. It should be a great weekend mate Josh, Karl and I are intending to head down on the Friday Morning so will all be there for Friday and Sat night.

Hey TOYMODers. I have finally booked a villa. Have lots of CCG daytrippers coming and a few overnighters booked this early. The CCG is notourious for pulling participants just prior to an event so who knows how many will lob closer to the date.

Hey Anthony...Ill try not to gawk at your Gold28....thats if I can resist as I just love your 28!

Can we have a competition for the best packed car?

Judged on:

netness
amount of luggage
weight distribution
cornering ability (ie. will stuff roll around)
legality (can see out the back, no tents under the bonent etc.)

I realise we probably won't all be turning up at the same time, but with a digital camera etc. it could be done.

I also realise this is a gay compettion, but its friday and I couldn't be bothered working so shut up!

sounds fair Pete, i'll pencil that down.

Im also working on Canoe related competitions that give no benefit to those at a fitness advantage..... just for amusement!

Any ideas for games, things to do etc are all welcome!

SupraPete, those of us with wagons would win this hands down.
Not only can I pack my car to meet all the criteria you mentioned, I can do it without getting within 2m of the car Laughing (obviously as long as the tailgate is already up)

Maybe add in "Effective use of space" too.

But if you don't pack it right, with more space there will be more stuff rattling round.

I'm still willing to give it a go.

Maybe add a category for "Most Useless Crap" Laughing

BTW, if anyone doesn't have enough room in their car & wants stuff taken, I'm happy to oblige.

Especially now Stitt's wagon won't be making the trip. No No No

hahaha! dont make me USE mine though!

I have a towbar, roof racks, boot and backseat - and im not afraid to use them ALL!

P.S. I have some prices for the Go Karts!!

# $2.00 per person for day licence, but they will waive this for a group over 10.

# $16 for 10 mins
# $22 for 15 mins
# $26 for 20 mins
# $36 for 30 mins

They run things in 15-20 min slots with up to 6 people on the track at one time, so you can break up your time pretty easily.

We are booked in!

P.S. There is only ONE spa villa left, but there are 4 executive cabins left..... 2 room jobbies. Plenty of powered camp sites free though Smile Comon rough it up a little people!!!

The ultimate way of measuring boot space:

How many bodies can you fit in.

You need to attach an aerofoil to one of your roofrack like caravanners do to deflect air over the van.

Think of teh downforz!

I'd love to be able to make the trip down with you guys, but I'll be a broke-ass (again) after I get my car engineered at the end of this month. Sad Now the car is running WITH a temp gauge and a better thermostat, I'd feel a bit safer driving it long-distance. Very Happy

I'd give y'all a run for ya money too with the boot-space/cargo competition... a 5-door RAV4 with only 2 seats. Hmmm. About 400L of boot area. How many bodies could you stuff in there?? Laughing
