just wondering if there was ever a corrolla rebadged as an Astra as gees some of those old Astra's look a lot like a Corrolla.

The Holden version of the Rolla was called the Holden Nova...

on this topic, the holden nova has a 1.8l engine, whereas the corolla is only a 1.6l....whats goin on here? what engine does the nova have??

holden used to have nissan pulsars rebadged as an astras (i think) cant remember exactly

The Pulsar/Astra of that age actually used a Holden engine... The same as in the Camira infact. It was called the Family 2 i believe.

Holden and Nissan did a swapsy.... Holden got the RB30 for the vL commodore... Nissan got the Family 2 for the Pulsar.

i beleive all ford laser are mazda 323s, thats why they are replacing it with the ford focus

holden astra= nissan pulsar ( early models )

corolla=nova
camry=apollo
commodore=lexcen
ford falcon ute = nissan ute ( XF model
ford maverick= patrol
proton anthing = old mitsu stock
323=laser
626=telstar/tx5


theres more im sure especially in the GM/opel range

Yeah, thats a big list of the suckers. The 323 and Laser are the same chassis and driveline, but they go their separate ways in body and interior, they are the most different of the lot.

Friends 93 Nova has a 4AFC I think, I know its a 4A something, not a 4AGE though...
