Hey just wondering if a FWD JDM 4AGE water pump, is exactly the same design as a AUS spec FWD 4AGE water pump ???. THANKS JoHnNy_K

No they are different because water rotates in a different direction, depending which hemisphere you live in. You would have to install your thermostat backwards.

sirius power, while that comment is well accepted many experts dispute claims. The direction water flows has more to due with the shape of the object it is in, the correliuos effect has been argued to be a bit of a crock of shit.

Hahahahahahah ok it seems i no problems with instaling a AUS spec water pump then. Now just wondering when you buy a water pump does it come with that little attachment that holds the pulley, because my other one is worn out i guess because the previous owner attached his 4ac fan onto the pump. Yes the water pump comes with the shaft that the pulley polts onto, just dont EVER bolt a fan to a FWD water pump, it will rip the pump apart (among other things) as its not strong enough to support it.

yerp, the fwd pumps werent designed to hold the weight and force of a clutch fan, neither were the bearings. you need to get a hold of a electric thermo fan.

careful doing up the water pump aswell, you dont want any 10mm bolts snapping inside the block

the FWD and RWD water pumps are very different!!
# the RWD pump has the small pipe that comes down from the top water outlet, and also holds the thermostat in the rear housing - you need the top outlet and water pump matched to either both FWD or BOTH RWD
# if you use the FWD one, you will need a remote thermostat housing... see my "HOW TO: FWD to RWD water conversion" thread

Actually if you read the first post you'll realise he's asking about JDM FWD pump compared with local FWD pump.
