After changing the gearbox oil in my transaxle (gearbox code c50) I've noticed that sometimes it gets stuck in gear I have to punch the gearstick out of gear.

When draining the old oil it looked sort of reddy. My guess was that the previous owner must of mixed some auto trans fluid into it.

On the upside the gearbox is much more willing to downshift from second to first. Whereas before the oil change I had to double clutch and match the revs EXACTLY or else it would crunch.

I was thinking of putting in some Lucas(?) oil additive to make it better? Has anybody tried it? Any other suggestions?

Did the oil look shiny, i.e. full of metal?
