Turbo GZE question.... Wed, 13 October 2004 01:00 Go to next message
Hello,

i am half way through the engine conversion and have come across a hurdle in my work. A few people have told me different things and i am not sure what to do. I am replacing the factory supercharger with a turbo.

My turbo is water and oil cooled, the oil lines i have hooked up already, but which is the best place to run the water feed and return lines?

Daniel

so a T section into each of the throttle bodies water lines eh? i might give that a go i think. As long as the turbo gets a flow of water i guess it should not matter too much, if all else fails i guess the best option is to go with T sections in the heater hose lines??? but aren't they meant to be HOT??

the throttle bodie water lines sound better to me i believe!

where possible, try to bridge into somewhere where the water has only just left the radiator, that way the turbo will recieve the coolest possible water flow!!

depending if you are north-south or east-west...

north-south: just T into the heatercore lines, hose sizes are appropriate usually.

east-west: id prolly guess TB is easier to tap into? i dont really care...

keep in mind, you dont have to hook up the coolant lines to the turbo. but i would recommend you do anyway.

where you take the coolant from shouldn't make bugger all difference, when the coolant is hot, its hot everywhere... go for flow.

cheers,
James

like most of the other guys said, i tee'd into the heater lines just like the HKS turbo conversion kits that used to be available for AW11's.
something bothers me about running extra heated up coolant through the TB.
