bahaha @ cosworth style rear wing. Maybe if it was black and had no wing, but the engine looks to be the goods.

He's got skills (or money to pay people with skills)... The exterior is riced up with that wing and fugly bodykit. *puke*

The wiring and layout of all mechanical components is pure art though. I think someone needs to talk that guy into toning down the exterior.

I don't mind the look of it actually. I wouldn't do it personally because it is a bit over the top. I don't know if it is just me, but it reminds me a lot of an older model mustang like the late 80's ones.

Bloody good engine and wiring job though!

that engine makes me horny... would love it!

I actually quite like the sideskirts, and how they mesh with the flares and at the back.

The wing and homo scoop suck obviously (imho), but mechanically artful

well it needs the scoop, or something similar, given the supercharger is too tall for the bonnet ;

The color looks like my kid shat on it. The wiring isn't that great a job and neither is the fuel plumbing. Lots of money spent, little details bring it down.

Nothing against the engine, thats awesome.

But he just butchered a perfectly good MA61 with:
1) a shitty paint colour
2) a 'ghey with aids' body kit
3) poor choice in rims

Thats the first time I've seen fuel rails not right on the injectors. I didn't know that was possible. Learnt something today.

He's also not running A/C for some reason. From looking at the belt config.

It has extractors too.

Alright, lets see if we can spec it out and see how close we get to what its actually got:

MA61
1UZ
M90 Supercharger
Air/water intercooler (can't see the water lines though)
Extractors with zorst exiting in front of rear wheels
Battery relocation (for weight not space)
Big fuel surge tank
Link computer
rear strut brace

Those lines aren't fuel pete, they are the water lines for the intercooler.

He also has a RRFPR, no heater and the engine has been mounted forward in the bay a fair bit to fit the piping to the rear of the charger.

I think it is a rather nice car done up to obviously the owners tastes, the color isnt too bad, the engine is obviously a stinker, the only thing I would ditch would be the rear wing, its very mad maxesque...

EDIT:
BlackSupra and I were looking at that.. it's only a baby Eaton M90... do some calcs for this SC and it's going to run out of puff very early for a 4L.. even with a 3L it will not be up to the job for long...

but regardless of what anyone else says, i think it looks neat.. he's tried something different and it kinda looks interesting... a hell of a lot better than most other 'modified' cars around (ie no hole in bonnet for WRX scoop Wink ) i like that6 you can see the SC pulley thru the scoop Very Happy

The owner wrote last year

my mk2 has been repowered by a lexus 1uzfe,it has a Eaton m90 blower with owner designed water to air intercooler built for it, set at 7 psi.
engine management will be controlled by a link computer.Body has been stripped back to bear metal and seamwelded, bodykit made by me.
wheels 15" 8" with 0 offset
Ajustable shocks with coilover's on front(koni)color has been chosen (acid rush),my supra has been stripped apart and has had all the underseal removed,the engine bay has been sanded and should be painted in the next few weeks,there will be no plastic panels and carpet going back in, the inside will be painted.i hope to have her on the road for christmas last update 21/09/03

M90-M112 upgrade kit..
http://www.zzperformance.com/images/prod/eaton/m112_hybrid.jpg

it does only have 6 ribs on it...
if it is a 112, 800CFM at 14000rpm should do the trick nicely Wink
(btw, it takes 60HP to drive it that fast at 10psi!!!!!)

anyways... good on him for actually doing it Very Happy better than (some of us) keyboard warriors Wink

Re: Supercharged 1UZ MA61 Mon, 18 October 2004 00:31 Go to previous messageGo to next message
4L motor, 7psi boost = 6L capacity'ish.

M90
500CFM at 12000rpm
500cfm = 13500Lpm
13500/6=2250 engine cycles
2250x2=4500rpm (where it runs out of puff)

MP112
700CFM at 12000rpm
700cfm = 18900Lpm
18900/6=3150 engine cycles
3150x2 = 6300rpm..

assuming 90% VE, that gives maybe 7000rpm with an M112 at 7psi...

See this more recent info:
http://www.celicasupra.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t= 12111

"toymad"

"elhsupra"

Is that a M90 on top? How much boost is he running with his current pulley setup?

It's the M112; he was told the 90 wouldn't be able to supply "enough". He's only going to run around 8 lbs with this setup, but he plans to ditch it later in favour of a twin turbo setup. Just so you know, there is a guy in New Zealand running twin turbos on his 1UZ and during the "run in" period was getting an easy 600hp at 6000rpm. He expects to get 800hp once it's fully tuned.... Nice idea - would be fun.

It looks a bit like a narrowbodied GA61 not an MA61 - hence the bodykit perhaps?

I dunno, I could be completely wrong but even the 24 valve twincam badge looks GA61-esque.

Ditch the rear wing.

Could've mounted the motor further back while still having the blower forward for the piping.
