4AGZE idle drop

Guys
I have an 87 AW11 MR2 GZE.
When i start it up shes fine. After she is warm if you give it some throttle it revs fine. But when I release the throttle the revs drop to about 500 for about 3 seconds and then back to idle at 1100 revs. Sometimes it doesnt go back to idle it just stalls.
has anyone experienced anything similar? Its my new toy and I want it running sweet...
Is the throttle body dirty inside perhaps?
Thanks

when mine did something simular to that i opened the bypass screw a little on the AFM. it seemed like it was choking on fuel when i went back to idle after upping it or pulling up the the lights etc.
it did stop it in my case, but might not be your exact problem...

Thanks feral
I sorted it out this arvo
A bit of NULON EFI cleaner and a slight idle adjustment and she runs like a dream. If i rev it it drops back to 1000 rpm beautifully. No more worries for me
I will check on the AFM also but i would rather not fiddle with it as it is running sweet.

mine does this, when im driving along say in 3rd, and i put my clutch in and the revs drop down they go to like 300-500rpm and stutter then back up to 1000... Usually in hot weather, cause it barely if ever did it in winter! whats the go.....
