I got a little bit of wheelspin and powerslide action uphill around a slight left hand bend for about 100 metres.
(gilbert road's big roundabout heading towards dural)
And county drives roundabout is the slipperiest mother when it gets wet.(cherrybrook)

well... i have done some pretty good looking handbrakies in the wet but its when i get greedy that i fail... i was going jst over 70 on a slight turn nearing a down hill. steered to the side for more margin, on goes the handbrake, out the back goes so i take it off and steer back... but i oversteered and the back came out the other way worse then when it started, oversteered that in a panic and then it went completely out... all i could do is sit and sh*t myself and try keep it off the gutters as i kept a constant 60 or so (estmated) down the hill heading towards the gutter. i put the handbrake on and saved myself from a $300 wheel job... no cars came from the other way, no parked cars were there, i think i got lucky... i shouldn't have a car... other than that i have just lost it on main roads and made myself look like a fu*khead to other motorists.

well the most embarassing thing ive done...

not in the wet

but after filling up petrol going around a roundabout
i decide to reset the km's

so i put my hand thru the steering wheel mid turn press the button..

as i turned back my hand hit the windscreen wiper and my hand was locked between the steering wheel/windscreen wiper and heading for one of those little islands with a pole in the middle so i hit my brakes, stop in the middle of the road facing the round about, windscreen wipers at full speed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed

was not cool...

flooring it at 120 in the wet and spinning the wheels is always fun Smile
Tried a power slide from macquarie centre onto epping road (4 lanes each way at that point), over cooked it and did a 180 - to the applause to the pissed people out the front of the pub on the corner Smile

if its raining and im driving the supra, im always having fun lol.

last time it was raining i was driving back to brisbane from the gold coast, and an R33 pulled up next to me... he was checking out the car and reving it up so i waited for him to kick it back a gear and go...

sure enough he started to pull away so i mashed the go pedal to the floor, hehe i pulled up next to him and the rears were still spinning. he went again so i smashed the go pedal again and pulled away from him with arse hanging out!!! Very Happy

like chris, if its raining and im in the supra... its fun time!! The craziest time would have to be when i went drifting with a group of people (2 series 4 rx7s, 2 ae86's and me in the jza61).

We had just finished a drift and were leaving the industrial estate. we came out on to the main road, and the guy in front of me (the faster of the rx-7s) punched it around the left hand corner, fishtailing up the road.

I did the same thing then backed off to get up beside him, as i did so he dropped it back and punched it again, getting the rear right out just slightly. I knocked the shifter into 2nd and planted the supra crabbing down the rd @ about 80km/h, i then though ok... not so bad, lets try 3rd, so i changed to 3rd (drive) and the car kicked from right to left just slightly, and my speed increased @ a crazy rate.

I ended up flying past the rx-7 @ around 150km/h sideways popping off the limiter. Was awesome fun, and was so easy to control!! One of the ae86 owners uses this forum, he'll be able to back it up Cool

regards,
Andrew

and that cherrybrook one is the most fun when u creep round it real slow and just before u straighten up u clutch it pump the throttle then dump Evil or Very Mad cos its sooooooooo slippery

On the drive back from queens town the roadhad water running down it the rain was that heavy .
I was drifting my dads's celica up this hill on every corner it was awesome but i was alone so nobody saw it.
I also did a full 360 by accident in the wet. I kicked the back out too far and foolishly kept my foot planted and i spun around and ended up still going the same direction.

This is before I got my 185, I was driving my old XF falcon (had only just bought it at this stage having graduated by a KA...long story) anyway, RWD is new to me...

I wanted to see how much grunt this thing had so i decided to dump it going around a corner, to this day i still do not know why...

Anyhow It was through an intersection and thank god there was little traffic because as I made a right turn and my foot went south the back end let go in the wet very easily and i was drifting/sliding/packing shit around this corner...

I had little knowledge of sterring into the corner, but i think its just instinct for everyone, and i think i got it right because during the slide i crossed the dotted lines into the opposite lane, but was now facing the right way, and i regained control just as i was heading into the left turn lane leading to the road i had just come from...

I decided to continue driving back along that road just as if it was something i had meant to do catching a quick glimpse of 3 or 4 other cars at the intersection with their eyes wide and mouths open hehehe....

If its a little hard to picture i drew a little pic to help illustrate Very Happy

Some roundabouts get really slippery. I don't know why but they are great for going around and around with the tail out. Smile
For the Newcastle people-the first roundabout on the industrial highway is super slippery. So much fun can be had.

I refuse to drive the mr2 in the rain now... its too scary and unpredecable. lots of weight in the back of the car a little sideways dosnt happen, its always lots of sideways, which results in no control because of the weight distrabution. best handling car in the dry worst in the wet.

2tg ta22 celica, was driving on princess freeway/hwy 110zone (in the dry) and had a huge nite before. Was so hung over but promised a uni mate i'd drive him into melb. was soo fked.. made one of those I will/i wont/i will/i wont decisions to pull into a servo. Changed to 'I will' at last minute (prob 50 m from servo entrance @ 110kmh/ braked hard and swerved left @ prob 80km/h into the servo entrance. Car just flung out one way, i managed to go into adreniline mode, got it back, the other, then the other, then straght, then stopped just before a pump in the servo.. EVERYONE was starting at me so i was too embarassed to get out and pump fuel so just drove out to the next servo!

Other ones were right hand turns onto princess hwy 4 lanes in the
wet in 186cu/4speed kingswood. Right at the intertia peak of the
corner, I would slam second gear and i was on ice!! every day in winter on the way to school. hehe.

18rg ra23 celica the nite i bought it power slide onto princess hwy again surprised the hell outta me considering the car was $400!

18rc celica all the way round a massive roundabout, with
an unconscious instinctive want, with a beautiful line
made me smile all the way to the shops. Gets like that
in winter where you do it soo often it becomes unconscious.

308 kingswood the nite i put lsd in with a bench seat
circlework one way and i'm presed into the door, the
otherway and i'm half way over in the passenger seat,
gripping the steeringwheel for support! gotta love bench
seats.

theres quite a tight roundabout on the way to and from my school, no matter what you do even when trying not to in the wet the tails goes out. Happens in almost any rear wheel drive car. Its pretty safe plenty of run off into some dirt so its cool. When Ifirst got my car my uncle warned of its tail happy tendancy any way I thought I'd test it out, go slow round the rounabout turning right just before start to straighten boot it, the car just stops and starts bagging it up. Honest the rounabout is alittle torn up and has zero grip, when it rains the dirt off the shoulder washes over the road and it makes life hell if you dont wanna play but otherwise its mad. Got my car out at like 60 degrees in the dry once wasnt nice looking at the park on the other side of the road, caught it and fishy up the road. Was quite funny cos some guys from school although didn't know it but had an inkling weer behind me in a pack to go crusing they enjoyed the entertainment, and stopped bagging the rona out

I just bought some new front tires for my car considering we are getting all this rain now and I can vouch that Yokie A539's are the top shit in the wet on my MR2.

Now when I punch it, the front stays true and the back gets loose, instead of just understeering like a bitch (but you gotta be a bit quick to catch it and stop it getting too far out).

I have had the 539s on the back for a while with very worn Eagle F1's at the front

Best thing i did was take my camry out to this old dirt carpark, which is now being built over but anyway, it had just being raining heavily and the carpark was a mudbath. So i decided to take the car for a spin with the handbrake on, after about 10 minuites the car was compleatley covered in about an inch of mud. Then we got asked to leave by a bunch of mallcops, so we went to my freiends 18th.

i was on my way to work thismorning in the rain... went a different way to usual as i was chasing after a pulsar that had recently put a sss 2l. engine in and thought he was god, he thought wrong. anyway, so i was on my way back on course and i rolled past some wreckers and repair shops that had a few nice looking cars so im checking them out, not realising there is a stop sign in front of me... i see it at the last second and anchors down, i locked up... so i took them off and put them on slower... before i even started slowing down they locked up... being outside a wreckers and repair yards there would be oil and shi* on the road. i was pumping the brake untill it gripped, suprisingly it didn't... it wasn't like on the movies and i rolled through the stop sign looking like i had abs as the wheels were spinning then locking... i went through at 50km/h. This is pretty fast if something is coming the other way, unluckily there was something coming the other way, it was like one of the cars i saw in the repair shop. we both swurved away from eachother, i tried to but didn't get that far. his supra twin turbo which was done up to the max lost it... i shit myself caus i was thinking i gonna have to pay for that bodykit that he ripps off on the gutter and repair the wheels that were going to smash into the gutter. he tried to keep it, done a pretty good job going from one side of the road to the other... then he went all the way around, as i was looking into the revision mirror i saw his wog like face strain as his arms were all over the steering wheel trying to keep it off the gutter... he did which saved my ass... he had stopped with the nose about a foot off the gutter and he was sideways across the lane. i tried to bail as quickly as possible watching his hand give me th finger... i deserved it.

another favourite of mine is this really steep street, you turn into it off a main road then floor it up the hill in second, the wheels in the corona will then conitnue to spin for like 100-200m up the road, nice and smooth road so once the water is on it, its nice and slick

Yeah Rain = good and also makes me = stoopid

Going down to lidcombe to pick up my GF from UNI, i was tailgated by a smart ass VY Driver, it was raining, and there was a few nice bents and curves on the road i was going, Normally at the last curve, which is pretty tight, i can take it at about 70km/h in my R31 Skyline Sedan, but since it was raining, i can only do something like 50 at the max.

BUt since i was so pysked up, and he was tailgating me like no tmr too, i completely forgot that i cannot take the corner at 70km/h .... so what did i do?

I took the corner at 70km/h turning left and my Rear slid out like a whore, from the fastest glimps, i can see him braking, but then a split second later i was doing counter steering foot off the pedal, i practically had NO control what so ever (DUE TO NO LSD >_< ). i nearly slid to the oncomming traffic, i musta given those poor students in their barina's a hell fright. I kept sliding ... head pointed towards the left, then suddenly out of the blue (Which i hate bout my NON LSD R31) the right slaps back in, and since i was a 'slow mo' the rear slid off again this time to the left....

Counter steer, and this process took me a good 3-4 times before i gained control over my car.... i thought that was it, i thought i would've spun.... i thought i'd hit the oncomming!! i thought i'd lost my NCB!!! but suprisingly, i made it out, with my car in one piece.

Thats smoething stoopid i'll never do again.... afterwards, the VY driver stayed a well 30 or so meters behind me, which was a good thing Very Happy

my fave was a 180 handbrake into a parking spot. between 2 of my mates (insured) cars. was perfectly aligned. (this was in a car park with no-one around to hurt. and only me in the car. so its all good.
