Hey i was just wondering if i fit a bov to my car does it have to have a noisy blow of valve (show of valve).

Can you get quite Blow of valves and is there any benifit of there being a huge whistle noise coming from my engine bay.

i think the difference is really, painfully obvious...

blow off - as in "turn that radio OFF" or "fuck off"

as opposed to

Blow of - as in "two of a kind" or " kind of stupid"

one letter can make a world of difference - just ask NASA.

... and as we're in grammar nazi mode, it's benefit not benifit.

Get a recirculating type.

No benefit from the ones that vent to atmosphere apart from total wank value (wait a min thats not a benefit...).

Definitely. I have seen a scientific study on these exact mods. Unfortunately, you are going to need an electric BOV if you want to see the difference.

serious: the only good thing about atmo BOV's is that they are about half the price of recirculating ones if you are after a name brand one. I just got a cheap GFB basic as I will be getting rid of the stock one because of the single turbo and I used one on my old soarer and it wasn't very loud anyway. Not much louder than my stock bov making noises out the air filter.

Well you can have the best of both worlds if you wanted to fork out the dosh... GFB make the Stealth FX BOV with a manual adjustment mechanism as well.

Personally I prefer the plumb-back option but I do like having a bit of versatility if it's needed. Very Happy
