Ok so my hilux (1800cc carbie) runs prety normally. But when Im slowing to a stop the idle is really high (around 2500) until I get to abou 5kms then it drops down to normal idle speed, every time, clutch in or out, cold or warm,????
I cant figure it out thought I might ask you guys before I have to pay some to figure it out.
Cheers

same sort of thing happens in my rona, even when I stop it idels at like say 1600-1700 even though its set at just under 1000rpm. The only time it comes down is when I let the clutch out whilst the brake is on in first to bring it down.

sounds like something to do with the high-idle cam on the carbie, or mabe the choke(s)? try a big hit of carbie cleaner, that seems to fix alot of things. short of that im not sure.

" try a big hit of carbie cleaner " not a bad idear as I just repalced the head and did notice that a bit of oil had made its way onto the butterflys.
It also seems to use quite a lot of petrol.
