Burnouts and doughnuts

Can somebody please tell me what is so good about performing such boring stunts?
Personally I think burnouts are such a shit thing to do to a car, and the driver must be thick as pudding.
I've met people who think doing burnouts and doughies is the bees kness, I just don't get it. I would rather go fast around corners on a track, something challenging...
Meh, rant over, just sick of hearing about these bullshit anti-hoon laws.
Cheers,
James

Its fun, and its also funny to see a Cressida doing it.
Its not a challenge like racing, its a boredom cure.

How else are you meant to warm up the tires? It's perfect if you need to get out on the track in a hurry.

Hi,
Yeah. I dump oil on the driveway so each morning I can warm up the tyres in a big smokie, to get them hot & sticky before I hit the road. I'm thinking about installing a light tree.

on that topic: i have seen these things for sale in a drag racing magazine that you plug into your cig lighter and the christmas tree lights up and it measures your reaction time.
I was going to get one for my g/f's mum because she is such a hoon

the way i see it is everyone has a specific allocation of "bogan points" they are issued every year. that means that everyone is allowed to do a few skids or other associated bogan activities over the course of the year without being pegged as a hoon.

Burnouts are cool no matter what u say.
It shows the amount of power ur car has without reaching dangerous speeds.
and chicks love them from snobby rich girls to ghetto girls to supre girls.
U have no idea how many times i've had chicks come up to me that say "cann u take me to do some burnouts" or if i announce i'm going to do some i sometimes have to do 2 trips because i fit everybody who wants to come in my car.
Call me a bogan if u want atleast i'm going to be a bogan that gets laid !.
I only use 2nd hand tyres anyway as i only run steel wheels with wheel covers.

Nothing wrong with burnouts. I love em! My first and only fine was for a burnout - which is fine, I got caught, so be it If you dont like them, don't do them!
As for doing them in stupid spots, ie. middle of a maind road or something, then they deserve to have the book thrown at them!

My take on it - normally burnouts are off limits (in terms of actual tyre smoke, wheelspin is A-OK as long as you're not melting 'em) until three magic little words come along: NEW TYRES TOMORROW. Woohoooooo!
I've never done a doughnut, though, because they're teh ghey wif dirty intravenous needles.

i only got 2 clips so far, but they both prity piss poor. you always seem to do a better one when you arent trying or know someone isnt watching. haha
plus i am not too keen on posting me doing burnouts on public forum if you know what i mean.
though i did come across these marks one day.
must remember to check the air in both tyres next time...

Hehehe, there is always an exception to the rule.........
When the police here in Canberra did a big crack down on burnouts in the local Friday night car hang out of Braddon they used hidden cameras mounted on top of a nearby building to capture all the culprets.
After about 3 Friday nights worth of secret surveillance they ran a story on the local news and showed a car from the footage, it was a bright orange corolla with a 4K engine and a locked diff (I know this because I had sold the guy two matte black front guards just a couple of days before he was filmed). it was pulling tight donuts for ages with a decent amount of smoke too and was shown in the news ads for several weeks after .
Goes to show that it's not all about the power, it's also about how much you are willing to abuse your car
If you are into burnouts you have to go to Summernats, it is "apparently" (though I doubt it) the Burnout World Championships!! Not bad for a bit of a look, but I usually get over it after a few cars.
I am not really into burnouts but have done a few on a burnout pad for a television show. The 8 second drag car that was also being filmed out-did me pretty well though.
Given the cost of tyres I usually limit mine to tyre warmers for drags and go to whoa events. The Summernats go to whoa event has a huge crowd and there is nothing like a bit of smoke and a quick run to get the crowd going.
Most types of fun in the car abuse it in some way.

What about the D1 drivers who came to australia for the driftnats, and had 3 cars doing donuts together? (cat n mouse, i was told its called - thnx paul )
I hardly classify that as boganish behaviour... and i dont think having 3 cars doing the same donut is a boring stunt, the skill to not crash into each other etc would have to be pretty high...
