Seing as the head is off, in pieces and needs a clean im wondering if its worth considering these:

Also approx how much should i pay to get a head completely cleaned and assembled ready to bolt back to the engine.
There was one guy (head specialist workshop) who said $400 would get it spotless and have the valves, shims, seals and cams etc all properly re-set

As above, how hard are you going to rev it, and also how big are the cams? Up to about 0.350" & 8500rpm or so I wouldn't bother with shim-unders.

They are around $27 per bucket + GST ex Japan. Fit in a 7M too  .
