muffler diameter on a std. 4age & mandrel question Wed, 27 October 2004 23:40 Go to next message
HEY,
i was wondering if someone can tell me what is the std. diameter on the muffler piping on a 4AGE. And if it is less the 2inches.. would 2 inches be better than the std size.. and is mandrel a better config to have asweel when i do 2inches if needed.
thanks

I'm pretty sure that the std pipe diameter is 1.5 or 1 3/4 inches. Yes a 2-inch system will be better, you 'may' notice a slight drop in low rev torque, but that is unlikely. Mandrel bends are best as this process (mandrel) ensures that the pipe remains the same diameter throughout the entire bend. Other bending reduces / crushes the diameter of the pipe in the bend, thus reducing the flow through the bend.
