8" thermo fans Sat, 30 October 2004 02:15 Go to next message
Anyone know any cars that use 8" thermo fans? Will have to be able to push air not pull. I am going to use one for my gearbox oil cooler and 10" is way too big.

$130 for a davies craig one Rolling Eyes Got my 16" one for $140.

thanks

even supercheap are selling some import elecric fans that are pretty slim - from memory their 12" was thinner than the CG version...

obviously longevity might be an issue seeing as it's cheap import crap - but if you also run a temp guage on the output ofthe cooler, you'll know when it's dead

forgot: you might have to swap the fan around rather than switch the polarity of motor - some fan blade designs are not unidirectional.

true that i forgot to mention it... this is what i have to do with mine and that way i can mount it either iun between motor and radiator or in front of radiator

yeah, I know how to get it to pull not push but I didn't want to pay $120 for a pissy 8" fan. So was seeing if anyone know what cars come stock with one so I could get one from the wreckers.

anyone know?

thanks Smile

Try a company called engineered products group. They make cement mixers etc and use them for oil coolers and such. They are in seven hills sydney but do ship.

AFAIK all aftermarket thermos i.e. DC, Repco, ICE etc. are set up to push air standard.
