witness to "incident" Thu, 28 October 2004 09:45 Go to next message
about 10 - 15 mins ago i was at a petrol station pumping up my tyres when i saw this guy in a camry reverse into a hyundai sonata, who was putting petrol in his car.

it was only a touch but it pushed the front bumper on the sonata up and as the camry moved of, the bumper went back into position. however, the sonata driver came up to me and asked if i saw what happened, i said yes. so now im a witness to a traffic incident Cool

the hyundai driver asked me to look at the damage, it looks like when the bumper was pushed, it dislodged the right park light on the sonata. the camry driver apparently said he doesnt want anything to do with fixing it.

i gave the sonata driver my name and number, so lets see what happens Cool

Did you advise him to call his insurance company straight away and list you as a witness? If he does, then the driver of the camry will have something to do with fixing it if he wants to or not.

This happened once to me too. Filling up at the servo, a P-plater in a Triton (full of drunk friends) backs into the servo's owner's excel. At least 5 people saw it happen. So what does he do? Looks straight at us, then pulls out of the driveway in a hurry and chirps second gear on his way down the road. I put my name down along with a few others, and we could all verify the car's rego and description. I never got a phone call though.
