here's an option for me..
keep my rims, get a pair of bolt on spacers
orrrrr go look for a rims that could hardly find
|
I don't think Garth would sell his wheels even over his grave - he is just giving you recommended size/offset mate.
As for your rim situation, i'm gathering your new coilovers have already a hub/brake conversion which don't allow 14's?
Do what i did for a while (mega illegal, mega stupid, mega dangerous, but works fine) just get some 10mm nuts which sit over the studs and buy reverse nuts for your wheels. They should bring the front wheels out allowing clearance from the calipers. I don't see why you needed to change your rears though, for looks ?
damn it looks good though, HOT!!!!!!!!
ps. get a front lip

des: i dont have any problems with 14"..if i do, i wouldnt have fit the konigs
konigs are horny, wouldnt mind them but on a budget..got few fixing stuff that needs to be done plus i have to get new tyres, etc etc..
i think i will go for bolt on spacers...

konigs are steve's...my wheels wont fit at the moment..need about 10-15mm just to clear away from the coilover kit adjuster
i'll scrape the idea of getting new wheels..i'll buy bolt on spacers instead.. thinking of 25mm or 30mm front..
will try putting 10mm for the rear

well it depends on which spacers u are talking about
are you getting actual bolt on extenders which have 4 new studs? (usually machined and cost approx $400), if so they'd be widening your front trek and putting stress on your strut and control arms. Just imagine hitting speed hump at high speed with hard springs
but if you can get them engineered and passed, then i don't see the problem, but 25-30mm is a pretty big gain in width

Well any extension to the wheel base width would cause geometrical stress to suspension components (ie. spacers) but the only worry i'd have for the back would be stress on the actual studs and possible breakage of materials like the actual spacer/studs/disc hub. I really doubt these kinds of spacers could be viewed as roadworthy, but i've heard instances where certain lengths do pass.
Love the title name Satoshi...you are one strange man
