1G-GTE carbon canister Mon, 08 November 2004 06:56 Go to next message
need to rig up the carbon canister to my engine...

is it only the fuel breather from the tank in to the bottom of the canister and a single vacum line from the plenum to the top..

how is it plummed up...

i have two spare vacum lines on my 1g-gte i'm presumming one is for the canister.. ne one know what the other was for?

one comes off the plenum and the other comes off the cast pipeing on top of the motor... on the side that comes out of the turbos.. just before the rubber pipeing

thanx

Use the spare one coming form the manifold. Connect this inline with a check/one way valve so the cannister doesn't become pressurised, and connect it to the top of the cannister.

The bottom pipe should feed to the fuel tank.

On mine I have 2 going to the fuel tank, one on the bottom and one on top, and the other one on top goes to the manifold with a check valve.

Quick question about the 1 way valve.. I've only seen/used the one for the brake booster which is way too big for a vac line. Can you get smaller ones?

Thanks
Joel

two hoses get connected. breather for the fuel tank.
and the connection off the top of the throttle body.
both of these should go onto the top of the canister and the bottom normally runs outside of the engine bay, breather.
