AE92 - Putting Tacho in 4afe - Where is coil? Tue, 09 November 2004 09:44 Go to next message
I'm trying to install a mates tacho into his 4afe and the 5th lead coming from the dizzy appears to be covered by a black cap and I can't seem to find where the negative side of the coil it.

I really need a diagram ASAP showing me what I'm conecting it too.

Cheers

just plug it into the tach connector under the little black rubber cap next to the diagnostic link

I'm guessing it's an AE92. Dunno if there's a difference between the earlier model 4AFC & later 4AFE but my old CS already had the tacho pre-wired, all I needed to do was change the cluster & the tacho worked straight away (even though the car was never originally fitted with a tacho!)

So check behind the cluster & follow the wires until you find one which doesn't appear to go anywhere on your current cluster. I'm no expert & maybe this doesn't apply to after market tachos but it could be worth a shot...

It's for an aftermarket one, I'll try have another look with the black cap thingy.
