How to handle unsolicitored paper junk mail... Wed, 10 November 2004 05:24 Go to next message
You all know the stuff I mean..actually addressed to you...pre approved $25,000 credit card...political parties...optus, telstra, real estate agents etc etc...only the ones that supply a free return envelope..use it but send good stuff back like expired pizza vouchers or a few pages of the racing form or any of their own crap..remember to make sure your name is no where on it...my best sending so far is an expired ferry timetable to Dangar Island and a voucher for concessionally priced STD couselling that I found a few weeks ago in a magazine ...enjoy...

Yea, done that sort of shit ages ago. Just havn't been bothered lately.

But I wonder what would happen if I had a ~1cm thick bit of solid lead the size of the envelope and sent that back...... Very Happy

i was going to suggest that you include light dusting of flour or baking power in each returned item...

but i'd be sure to have handled the envelope most carefull before hand, and given recent events it might appear somewhat tasteless.

alternatively, you send it back with you details inside saying that they agree to pay you $100 for each further unwanted mail messages that you have to return to them. i doubt it would be enforcable, but its a legitimate threat and probably with the right legal might behind you, justifiable in court.

Send them an invoicve for your time spend checking the mail and opening it and reading it. At say $28- hr, min 4 hrs.

If that doesnt work if there is an email address sign them up for as much spam (read porn) as you can. Works a treat, done this more than once so don't get on my bad side. Esp if there is a website address for enquiries like a "mail@xxx".

yeh I heard of someone posting a sign on their letter box stating that any junk mail delivered would incur $70 fine.. which was enforcable...I would love to know how to get those fukking email spammers back, when tracked down the offenders should be put on a national register like sex offenders so we can harass them daily as payback..

I got some crap yesterday, I wrote all over it and put some liquid soap in it, and sent it back.

Is it an offence to ruin voting material? We got some council election thing in the mail yesterday, I don't want to vote, so I wrote all over it, stapled it 100 times so they couldn't open it, taped it with sticky tape another 100 times incase they tried...and then you guessed it, filled it with liquid soap and sent it back!

I reckon they might have something to say about that! hehe
