This car was built by a mate of mine and the thing used to scream. car was known as EVL.GT4 very cheap considering how much money the owner put into it. I have spoken to the previous owner and the motor is fine u just need a new turbo for it and away u go. good luck with the sale

Anyone know how much I'd be looking at for a new turbo and to have it fitted? (is it hard to fit one yourself with a little mechanical knowledge?)

the engine is apprently fine its just the turbo thats in bits.
im gonna chuck standard st162 exhaust manifold and exhaust and try and start the thing in the next couple of days.
I will keep u guys up to date.
I have been looking at some turbos and prices range from 250-1000 depending on whats done to it. it had a single entry CT26 in it previously. it doesnt look like rocket science to fit it.
sorry Toml 1000 is way too low.

sorry had to ask, but why is the turbo in bits? Has something gone wrong? Just hope that bits of turbo aren't in the engine too, as the car isn't running, it's normal to suspect something bad had happened! Does it have rego? If not, when did it expire?

just to answer your Q 86tt, the guy apparently blew the turbo and pulled it off to get it reco'd, but I think it fell thru,
the engine looks fine but I have yet to start the thing up. i will try to do so soon(when i get some time). I can understand your suspect of the engine which is why i really want to try and start it up. the has no plates, and dunno when it ran out sorry, my nephew is chasing down the engineers certs.

U might actually wanna put sumthing in those open ports in the engine shot.
Track down the engineers certificate and if its still valid would be good addition to the car.
add the standard exhaust manifold, and see if it starts.

I put on a standard exhaust manifold straight after I took the pics dude. I know what can happen. hopefully I can get it all together and start it this weekend. engineers certificate is being chased.
thanks for the advice anyway Midz.

so that would mean getting a blue slip?
glad you understand my worries, no one wants to buy the car and find out there's pieces of what's left of the turbo grinding the engine!
