Needs to raise a little more over the arches, and there doesn't look like there's much room under there for an engine.

I heard it would be rivaling the new 2007 nissan GTR - which will be having a VK45TT innit... thats a v8 too, innit? (twin turbo, 4.5, v8? i heard somewhere?) * rumour on the my350z forums*
There are too many concept pics of the new gtr though... the only genuine pic they had of it was the gtr everything in a, like a G35 shell? Theres about 50 different ones, but they all kinda end up looking similar to the Z from the front, with a skyline rear.....

I don't know, but when I went to Toyota Parts to source myself a radiator shroud, the sales people all wanted me to put down a deposit for a 2005 Supra? I dunno if they were just fuckin' with me, or if they were being serious.

i just pulled this off another site..
Quote: | Among the outrageous guesses are that the prototype is a mule hiding either a 500-horsepower V-10 engine or a high-performance hybrid powertrain.
Sources in Japan say it?s likely an early test bed for the next Supra, pulled from the U.S. market several years ago because of poor sales.
Toyota insiders say the reincarnated Supra should reach the market in 2006 as a 2007 model. The rear-wheel drive coupe, being targeted at the Nissan 350Z, will be powered by a twin-cam 3.5-liter V-6 and priced from well under $30,000.
|
so who knows whats in it?
Maybe they were pulling your leg.. maybe they meant 2006... i dunno, i supose with cpncept cars you can never tell....

that pictured car has a v10 in it. and those panels on teh car are just fakes, the final product will be totaly different. They put dummy panels on so they can just drive it and test the chassis etc in real world conditions, ie nurburgring.
the v35 gtr is going to have a vq32dett engine in it. v6 quadcam twin electric assisted turbo's, dry sump, electronicly driven front wheels. It will not have a v8 in it, ever

Yeah, riceburna73 i agree, i mean im a huuuge fan of the 350z.. and all the new nissans seem to be based on them looseley... but the new gtr....
Well, most of the gtr's are based on their corresponding skylines.. so im assuming it will look like a beefed up G35 on steriods.....
however, after the 350, the cars are starting to look more like pillows more than anything else... they seem to be loosing their badass look and going soft....

LOL coz those guys didn't know what an MA61 was. I had to explain to them that its the second gen Supra and 'yes it does exist, go check your computers'. Bloody corolla and camry lovers *runs for cover*.
So after they checked out the part I was after they said I should instead dump my baby, and put a deposit down for the 2005 Supra. Now I couldn't tell whether they were pulling my leg or not. But if it is true, I'm wearing a suit and going to book myself in for a test drive

You're all wrong. The new Supra will have a straight six turbo engine, otherwise they can't call it a Supra. What's with this V6 crap anyway?
...actually I heard somewhere about a Supra they're running in JGTC or something, with a 4.5L(?) V10. Maybe this points the direction to a new model? I really hope they don't let the Supra nameplate die (or worse yet besmirch it by turning it into a Camry, like they did to the Celica for a while). :/

I love the way you can point out that someone else said something wrong (with no proof), then next breath say something wrong yourself.
JGTC cars have modified 3UZ engines.

I hope the new Supra comes out with a V8 in it. That way I can leverage my website

fractoid wrote on Tue, 16 November 2004 01:45 | The 'no you're all wrong' bit was meant to be funny... sorry shoulda put a on it to make it plain.
And I definitely saw an article about a V10 Supra running in some racing class in Japan... I think it was in Speed or Motor Magazine, I'll try and find it next time I have Japanese for lunch, the magazine is at my local jap restaraunt.
As for the 3UZ-FE, just because they run that in JGTC in a JZA80 doesn't mean that they don't/haven't/won't run others... for instance they used to run a JZA80 with a 3S-GTE in it. At least I'm fairly sure they did, I remember thinking "wtf is a 4 cylinder engine doing in a supra?!" Apparently it was somewhat interesting to drive, making bugger all power until 6k RPM and then pumping it out up to 8k RPM.
|
Find the article. It sounds interesting. I didn't know toyota made a V10.

Century is a V12. Toyota developed a V10 for racing (can't remember which series/class) but it was later shelved so now they want to adapt it for road use.
