Man, Why has no - one else replied???
I am no expert - but; hey - what do you want it to do? Fast 0-100km/h speeds.
For all I know -( & that's not a lot )- what a hard coversion it would be - DO NOT DO A conversion, except for an 18RG. This means you don't need to do an engine conversion and a registration conversion (engineers report etc.)
18RG's come in 3 types, anything is better than yours.
The second generation is best, when you consider power / weight.

Re: hilux engine options (help)- TURBO -Cause I' m stoopid Sun, 28 November 2004 12:14 Go to previous messageGo to next message
DO NOT USE A TURBO on your Car.
Toyota Mota Company - NEVER recommeded a Turbo on THAT!!!!!
THere were several very, good reasons why. But some thing's involving near death experiences (and treee's on the side of the road)stopped them releasing them on the Australian Public. - they only left shitty holdens and fords for idiots to kill themselves in!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Go for a decent "sleeper" conversion - 18RG - Just like McDonalds - "I'm Lovin' it" In a Hilux with a REALLL 18 RG

bah, none of them go shit hot... they're a work horse, the engines werent designed for big speeds or power... what they were designed for was to be able to haul a tonne around town... that's why they had long stroke's (2.7 efi is good example)... they make decent torque and that's about it...
