your cd player that you just put in should have a wire labelled ant. find which wire your old stero used to make the aerial go up and connect this wire to it.

Hi,

What he said.

If that doesn't work then you've got an aerial with a switched earth and you'll need to throw in a couple of relays to allow the antenna to go up and down - assuming it's a proper power aeriel and not the type that simply "pops up" when you turn the radio on (and have to manually push it down yourself).

OK if your wiring is anything like my ST162 then this should work for you.

In your car's wiring behind the head unit area you should find a black wire with a red stripe, and a pink wire with a blue stripe. The black one connects to the blue "antenna" wire on the HU, and the pink one needs to be connected to the blue/white "remote" wire (the one that is used for turning amps on and off, etc).

When I first installed my HU I connected the black one to the HU antenna wire only, (not knowing about the pink one) and the antenna would raise when the HU was turned on, but wouldn't retract again until you switched the car off and turned the key on again. When I found out about the pink wire from a Celica forum, I hooked it up and everything worked perfectly.

Let me know how that goes, and if you have any other questions.

Matt
