can't agree more! !
Central dials immediately rule it out of alot of markets though.
bodykit helps it, but like they say - you can't polish a turd ! ! ! !

If you drive it backwards it's not FWD.
How would central dials rule it out of markets?

It's a toyota product relabeled as a Scion brand but sold at toyota dealerships. start at about 13/14 thousand USD.
Couldn't give you any details if its built on an echo, though I don't believe it is.
That's actually the best looking xA I've seen, they also have a xb and tC (coupe) in the scion line of vehicles. The xA/xB been out in japan for 3-4 years now and were in several video games.

didnt the new mini have to have extra dials stuck behind the wheel, because originally it only has the tacho centrally mounted which was illegal here?
Oh, i like the 1st one too.

Exactly. In some markets (like Australia) there's rules about the speedo being within a certain field of vision for the driver. That's why the Aus-delivered mini has the speedo behind the s/wheel, and a centrally mounted monster-tacho that'd make any VL-Turbo driving wog green with envy ! ! !
Check out the dash of Aussie road-reg'd GT40 replicas, and you'll see the same thing: big dumb speedo mounted above the s/wheel, and tacho mounted uselessly off to the middle of the dash, where the originals had the speedo.
-that is all.
