has any one had problems with the distributor not fitting in, does it hit the firewall or what.

Yeah it hits the firewall.

Few options which i'm sure others can tell you more about..

Attack firewall with hammer.
Fit some kind of CAS/coil pack setup.
Fit dizzy to cam gear at front.
