printer troubles

I've got a lexmark X5150, and when I print it prints great, except that on the left 4cm of the page, it only prints half the page (prints 2cm, 2cm blank, prints 2cm, etc)
the toner seems to be fine (only replaced recently, plus everything is printing nice and dark except that one part)
any ideas what the problem could be?

also, it appears to *only* be the black & white that does this - I just printed a half page colour pic, and the coours came out fine, but the black background didn't come out at all on the left 4cm of the page.

try cleaning the drums under the toner cartridge with some isoprepsol and a lint free cloth...or some metho if iso isnt readily available.
