read the specs for the amp - it will have info on max temp range.
when it's too hot to touch, are you running it at 100% or just 1-5%?
U have correct impeidance speakers for the amp? if it's suited for 8 ohm speakers and you've put 4 ohms units in, it'll pull heaps more current (and get hotter).

If you are touching the amp on the heatsink, then of course it is going to be hot to theh touch. That's normal. If you touch the amp and it's hot, then you may have a problem.

it should be normal for amp to get hot, decent quality amp should be able to shut itself down when overheated anyway, if its still on then its nowhere near limit yet.
i have an alpine f400 oldschool v12 that eveytime its gets installed (in many cars already) it get real hot too touch but even after 8 years it still going strong

yeh, the amp has been running these 2 subs (pioneer) for many years, so im assuming its no doing any damage to anything i was just curious to whether the amp should get this hot. its not the best amp but it does the job.
