It's not fair when you get to a stage where you HAVE to guess... I hate the expert level for the reason that you can spend ages not making a single mistake and then it gets to a point where there's no certain safe square to click. And when you have to guess, it's ALWAYS the mine that you click. It's got to be rigged.

If you left click on a square in the middle somwhere and you reveal the number '1'. This means that out of the 8 squares surrounding the one you just revealed... 1 of the 8 is a mine.
If its 2 then 2/8 are mines, etc etc. So this is how you narrow down to find mines (u right click to tag a mine) and you have to tag all mines as quickly as possible
Ofcourse there are little tricks and complications. But those are the basics.

Basically the aim of the game is to click the squares and to determine where the evil mines are. If you click a square and it has a number, that number represents the number of mines that are in adjoining squares. Each square has 8 other squares touching it so if the number is less than 8 then some squares are safe to click and some squares are mines. You need to use logic to determine which ones to click and which ones not to. When you have worked out where a mine is you mark it with a flag by right-clicking... You win when you've marked all mines in the field.

Because there is probably a mine to the left of the 2 or diagonal left, outside the range of the 1.
