I'm putting a 20V in my AW11.
I need to know if the 20V headers can be easily modified to clear the starter motor.
Anyone done this?

my mate had a 20v in his aw11, it had the starter, under the extractors...seemed to fit no probs...
he has just got a half cut, ze...going to mod the 20v extracors for it, only got to change the end two bolt holes...
he rekons the ze is heap more fun, compared to the 20v...

yeah ive got a ZE with a nevo in my sprinter... pulls hard.
I got the MR2 for cheap. Too much work to do a ZE conversion.. why would you bother when you can get a factory supercharged car landed for 7k or so.
also was the 20V stock?.. mines going to have:
Stage1 : ECU, Cams, aluminium flywheel, lightened crank pulley(replacing belt driven water pump with electric)..brassy
Should go alright.. ive just gotta buy the pump and the flywheel and start unbolting
then
Stage2 : pistons, rods and valve springs... make it rev a bit harder.
It wont be a daily driver so it can afford to be a bit of a pig...

If you want to use the stock 20v exhaust, you can either:
1 - Find a 20v starter motor and sandwich plate (I think the 20v stuff will fit, if not, ZE stuff will do nicely) and mount the starter on the back of the motor, or
2 - Extend the top pipes of the manifold to clear the starter.
