icon8.gif  My 86 stolen ADELAIDE Fri, 24 December 2004 08:40 Go to next message
My car was stolen from Vic Drive in the city between 5.15 and 6.15 pm today. (yeah christmas eve the bastards).

Its a gold/brown sprinter with a 4ag (and 4ag sound) its quite low, has a front lip and a factory rear spoiler, early model jap rear lights, 3 piece wheels with charcoal grey centre and premium rego plates. It also has a (very noticible) dent in the front right quarter (And I just finished painting the new panel yesterday).

If anyone sees it please call 0421 333 097 I want my damn car back!

Thanks everyone and Merry Christmas

Rob

this is the car, it has different wheels and is lower now though...

hey arch, i take it was you that called earlier? A search would be great if anyone would like to join in? Maybe monday or something if people are keen.

Its really depressing, I've put so much work into the car just to have some little prick steal it and probably thrash the balls out of it.

hey dude,

what suburb was it in?
ill definately keep a look out!!

Just a word of advice ring all the taxi companies and offer a reward of $100 odd dollars to whoever finds your car first. Taxi drivers will be falling over themselves to find your car. Although doesnt sound good, this method has worked well previously.

Best of luck in the search dude!

if the tools dump it, the cops will call you when they find it, they rang me at 4 in the am to tell me they found my datto 1600...

if they burn it, the cfs will call you as soon as they put it out....they did that for my vl turbo.

Filthy Scum like this have a pattern.

And again the 2 possibilities are;

-Local losers taking it for a spin.
-Targeted to be stripped.

So you need to search the areas where these people would go. For the first. Check out all parks and all streets that end in a deadend facing a park. Generally somewhere near a bus route or trainstation. Then expand this to industrial areas. Check out the dock area also.

Search extensively within a 6km radius, then expand.

Goodluck, sorry to hear about it.

Yeh that was me that called u last night Rob. I wanna find your car but there are a couple things stopping us. That is, it was taken from the city, so it could be in any direction. And also because its christmas, we cant look during the day today.

I have a feeling that if they dumped it close to the city, it could have been in some of the parklands that surround the city, like memorial drive or poofter park or something.

anyways if u wanna organise something later tonight give me a buzz

I thought that it was sexy...
the wheels on it at the moment (if they are still there) are 3 piece 15"
with metalic rim and charcoal grey multispoke centres. That photo
was taken by the previous owner.

and they can keep the AM/FM radio...

u guys should set a date ASAP to run a search like we did with jay's (fujiwara_tofu) car. also more pics up would be great.

lets hope the dudes only took ur car for a joyride and not striping it. Ask the workshops around the area as they know where the dump spots are for stolen/joyride cars. Also wouldnt harm having a few pics of ur car in gas stations. if they're having a joyride they have to refuel sooner or later.

dude it sucks to have ur car stolen man but it will appear sooner or later. how many ae86 can there be over there apart frm ur mates?

all the best finding ur car and take it easy for now.

Very late notice, but there is a cruise organised today to do a bit of a run around for my car which has been stolen (see post re stolen 86)

All are invited

Meeting is at 12pm at Adelaide Aquatic centre car park
(Jeffcott Rd North adelaide)

Hopefully something will come out of this but it will also be an oppurtunity for some
imports to get together and cruise on a public holiday (there will be other cars besides sprinters)

(NOTE: It will not be an angry posse out to crack skulls, sorry if you are out for some violence)

If anyone wants to join in later call 0421 333 097

We've just got back from the drive around. Unfortunately, however, nothing
has come of it.
We checked the 'hot spots' that people apparently dump stolen and
thrashed cars but had no joy.
Even though Adelaide is small there are way to many streets to
be able to check them all!

At least I know that my car isn't just sitting in one of these
places and hasn't been reported. I dont really want to wait
for the police to find it, especially on a public holiday.

The drive was good fun though and some really great guys showed
up to help me out. If anything it was a good excuse to get together
and go for a cruise on a nice public holiday Smile

big thanks goes to Matt, Dan and Jake and the girl taking her
car on her first 86 run (doh, really sorry your name slipped
my mind but you were really nice)

and also Ryan and Karim who rocked up with only 1 hours notice
from ns.com! And then James in the M Beemer Cool

Oh and Simon and Jesse came for icecream in the city (What is it with that guy and *icecream* Laughing )

dunno but he loves it ey

girl in 86 you say.... tell me more...

Honestly, do what i told you earlier. get several of your mates to call the police and report your car with a discript of the car + no plates and report it doing some illgal activity in some random area's, not vehicle crimes but something along the lines of breaking and entrying and get away veh etc.

if anything the c`ops will radio out to all other patrols the veh and plate to keep an eye out.

Something they wouldn have forgotten about by now if its just been reported stolen.

best of luck

yeah, I'm hoping that this is a good sign that it hasn't been trashed yet!

I'm gonna keep an eye out for you in these areas, as im in sydney and i cant really go hunting for them... i will if i were there in adelaide...

Thieves suck... as if steal on chrisie eve

yes it does suck, I've had no word as yet from the cops but
have not lost all hope that it'll turn up. (its been 2 and a
half weeks)...

thanks for the search, thats not my VIN though, its too early a
number (mine is a 1985). A stock sprinter is worth $2,700, people who get more for them are lucky and people who pay more for them are dopey... it just seems that there are a lot of both dopey and lucky people about Razz
