Bathurst, I think you will find that the number listed is the start number for the month not the total quantity produced.
Therefore May cars were 1 through to 3396, june was 3397 through to 6526 and so on.
If you look at the MZ21 Soarers you will see that in 1985, november there was 1, and in december it started with 2 so the November month saw just one car produced and december they managed 26 cars......

If you've got the Toyota EPC when you punch in your VIN it gives you the month & Year precisly, not sure about date, I havn't played with the EPC in a while.
