surge tank install questions (ae93) Wed, 29 December 2004 08:49 Go to next message
Hey all, im "reviving" my post as i finally scored a VL-turbo pump for $50 so im ready to rid myself of that horrible surge!!!
I have a small (~1L) surge tank with a bracket attacked to it which perfectly holds the VL-turbo pump.
We're thinking of going DIY but as always ive never installed a goddamn surge tank before. Just want to check where to physically mount the thing.

Can I weld it to the (dry and aired) fuel tank just where the wires powering the intank pump are? Or just the chassis nearby??

Should i weld, cable tie , blue tack it or what? Smile

Anyone with an AE93/92 surge tank existing setup??

Cheers ppl
Surprised

I think legally you can't have the surge tank in the cabin... i've also heard the engine bay is a no go zone as well, however, this one has never been confirmed.

Welding to the tank would probably be a good idea so long as when installed the surge tank will not easily get hit if you run over something.
