AE86 Jap and Aus spec tanks Tue, 04 January 2005 07:50 Go to next message
After comparing the internals of a jap and aus spec fuel tank i can confirm once and for all that they are in fact different. anyone that says they are internally identical is WRONG.

Heres the proof:

yeah

i'm just putting to rest the speculation and misinformation that some people have about the tanks being identical

i havent seen any photographic evidence yet, so i decided to put it up and show the non believers

Obviously the EFI tanks would be different.. I don't know why anyone tried to argue this! Also, can someone please put this whole 'jap spec' and 'JDM' thing to death? Remember they sold AE86s with 4AGs in places outside Japan, too Very Happy

Almost any EFI pump will feed a 4AG, as they don't put out a huge amount of power, they don't need a huge amount of fuel. If you want to use something 2nd hand, something off an EFI commodore, or cressida, or basically anything else you find, will do the trick.

yep,
u could also use a JE camira pump

the easiest way would be to externally mount the fuel pump and not touch the fuel tank at all.
