No, we never got the TE71 in oz. So that'd make it all the more special if you ever get the shell of one.
I think ae95 on here used to have a TE71 project, but I could be mistaken.

yep, henn is correct. i did have a te71 2dr hardtop
regretfully, i sold it to CLG because i no longer had the space to keep it.
there was no aus spec te71s. all te71's are imports and are the ae86's predecessor.
in my opinion the te71 hard top look better than the hatches, whereas with an ae86 the hatches look better.
there will be a few kicking around in aus but not very common
theyre a good little car and id hopefully like to own another one later on in life
and yes they do have a t series rear end. some are disk and some are drum, and if my memory serves me correctly they have slightly different calipers.

wouldn't say dime a dozen. most of them have either been crashed or rusted out. there are a few though. we got them as aa AE70 Trueno, but not of the pop-up h/light variety.
i have a TE71 hatch rally car, as well as a hardtop i'm gonna use as a dedicated clubcar.
all the JDM TE71's are T series disk rear nomally with 4.1:1CW/P

the only one i have seen that isn't disc rear is the TE70 4-door sedan powered by the mighty 3-T. all other variations of TE71 i have seen are 2TG powered and were disc rear.
