i have - and oh there be bargains to be found...
shipping is a KILLER though. EMS out of japan makes most of the bargains of the larger items prohibitively expensive 
i bought my gear through kristian, as he had an account, and also a contact in japan to whom the parts could be sent initially, before shipping to australia...

yeah heaps of stuff. good stuff too 
but you need a contact there to handle the japan end of it.
remember ship[ping on big stuff is $$$$ unless you fill a container. speak to your exporter in japan and they will often collect orders enough to fill a container and ship that way. i have had big items come this way and save a heap of cash on shipping.
