Ok well ive been trying to collect parts 4 this conversion over the past three months so far ive got
:T18 drum to drum diff and tail shaft(rare in perth)
:TA22 diff for the 4.1 ratio
:TRD 2 way lsd (thanks wei)
ok my questions are. The crown wheel and pinion af the ta22 they do fit in the t18 carrier? Or do i just use the crown wheel and the t18 pinion? (does that make any sense)How strong is this setup? Do i need any thing else?
cheers 4 any help sorry for the iggnorance iam all new to this.

what you need to do..is get the pinion and the crownwheel of the ratio you want (ta22) (i'm not sure if it has the same axels as the T18) and get a diff shop to put the LSD into it and lapp it etc..if that means putting the LSD in the ta22 centre and putting it in your T18 housing..or using your T18 centre with the LSD..make sure you count the splines on the axels from the ta22 ans the t18 diff..from what i have read they are different..i'm not 100%...i have a TruTrac LSD in my T series diff..thats coping with a 220ish-hp GZE and really tough clutch, i have broken a T-50 box..and recently broke a few teeth off the crwon wheel and pinion..and used a crownwheel and pinion from a T292 81' RA40..(i know they have the same axels) and i have also got a slight twist in my left axel..this happens occasionally with any LSD high powered car (with a reletivly weak diff)..(replacing ver very very soon!)
from what i knwo about diffs and LSDs...you shall not have a problemo with a 4AGE infront of a T seires LSD diff..if you do..it will just be the crownwheel and or pinion.

If the LSD is the small axle variety (23 spline) then you are fine. Take the nose of your T18 diff housing, LSD centre and 4.1 crown and pinion wheels to a diff specialist and get them to fit it all. Shimming up diffs is important and apparently complex and time-consuming.
Then drop this whole unit into the rest of your T18 diff housing, throw in your T18 axles and tailshaft and go enjoy some drift.
Hen
PS, just noticed, as for whether the TA22 ratio fits the T18 housing, I'm not sure, but I'd be pretty suprised if it didn't.
PPS, don't mix and match crown wheel and pinion pairs.
