Since its a fuel injected engine originally ?

Just saw your response to me in the old thread...

You claim to have had it engineered? With the carbs? And it meets ADR's?

But your selling it without a engineers certificate... Rolling Eyes

OK...

Ive sent to pics to Danners but he is yet to host them, if you want to see pics they are also in the old thread AE86 Levin has posted. If anyone else can host pics, ive got a few more that I can put up.

To set the record straight with the engineers certificate, it has been engineered in Queensland already but due to the time it has taken for the car to be made roadworthy the certificate has expired, I am in melbourne and do not want to send the car back to queensland just to get another certificate.

To improvedave, some engineers have been willing to do the certificate, but another option is to just switch the carbi's for efi, should about break even if you were to sell the carbi's. I haven't done this because it's quite a nice find and i didn't want to ruin it for a potential buyer.

To justinfox, this car can be used as a daily driver, just need the engineers cert.

Oh yeh, NO RUST!! This car is a perfect example of a heavily modified 86, where are all the 86 fans??

EFI fuel tank / or surge tank. Maybe fuel lines.
ECU.
Inlet manifold.
wiring harness + wiring.

all in all should be about 1 grand. less if you do it yourself.

Yes, that's right, you would.

Be a man, do the right fing and get some 20V quads, a programmable ECU and get fanging.

Man i want this CAR! hehe. PLEASE GOD give me my license back and some $$$ Evil or Very Mad

i hope something like this pops up in the future when i have some more $$$

If this thing drives well and has a reasonable body, its not a bad price. Better than spending 10 to 15k on a aus spec to get it like this one. You'd have to put a aftermarket computer and change the intake. Personally i'd be chucking a EMS and customise a 16v intake manifold. Although that'll cost about $4K max with a final tune. And i've been told you can pull more torque with a single trottle body. anyways goodluck with the sale! If u still got it hopefully in like 7 months hehe it could be mine
later man

The other option to get an engineer cert for this car justin fox is to send it to queensland, the engineer up there will engineer the car with the current carbis. That also goes for any potential buyers who live in queensland.

really im surprised u still have it?? shame about the EFI Happy Sad
its funny because this is a much better example than some i've seen at Just Jap and i think they manage to sell there ones for around 10-14K. I know theres some $$$ to be put in this thing. But its got a lot of goodies. Ideally if theres anyone out there with a ae86 whos just swapped their engine to a 4age EFI and planning to do suspension/ brakes & drivetrain this would be sumthing to think about. And you would have a hell lot of JDM gear as well. Anyways good luck again with the sale!!

Number 33, if you read all of this post it would have answered your question. Your post did not make a lot of sense so I will try and answer your question. ALL imports need an engineers certificate before they can be registered. This car is usually EFI so it is easier to get an engineers cert for this car if it was changed to EFI, but I can still get an engineers cert for a buyer who wishes to keep the carbis.

the car has a RWC so it is quite enough.
-A melbourne buyer can change it to EFI (could range from 1-3grand),
-get an engineers cert (I can get you one but it has to be shipped to QLD, so in total that would cost $1500)
-or they can use it as a track car ( $0 no engineers cert or registration required)

fellas. i ran twin 45 webers on a very similar engine in my previous hachi. if this car is originally a gt (read carbed) you can legalise it by claiming the engine is a costoum build 4a. you then need an airbox for the pcv to breath to, a manifold signal for a carbon can, some form of throttle advance on the dizzy, a deadman relay for the fuel pump and ditch the engine bay lifter. then run it on a scope to prove its in tune and pumping out legal emissions and there you have it. you just need an engineer that doesnt know '86s too well. Cool
