I've been thinking about putting a video together of Perth Toymods Forum members, to exchange with other states, so we can put faces to nicknames, get a feel for each other's local car scene, and check out each others cars. I was thinking of giviing each car and owner 45-60 seconds to show their car (more for more developed cars), and say hello, with the main aim of the video being "easy to watch", and not something that drags on forever showing the same car.
Ideas for filming included static shots, a bit of cruise material, and possibly a few "workshop/garage" visits for those cars that aren't on the road yet? Anyone interested in doing the same, in other States?

I know most of us have got gear these days etc...but I can volunteer some cameras and tripods etc. from work. I've got premier and Sony Vegas, so I could edit something together and cut it to DVD or if someone has the webspace I'll encode it to DivX or XviD and upload it or.......

Yep, you can be that option, all I want is a tripod with some form of viscous dampning, to avoid the camera shake - my pet hate!

I'll propose a Co-ordinator in each state or city to get the ball rolling. Those people can be responsible for organising a time and location to get people together to film, that best suits them.
I'll put my hand up for WA, who else will do it in other states?

Yep, i live in tamworth close to normo so that makes 2 tamworthians. i have a video camera(its a bit outa date) and a digi cam that can take OK videos.
Also a good time to meet up would be toyota nats in Tamworth in march.

definitly keen for a newy one;
Also i know a few other guys down here that would be keen, but prabably havent seen this thread or are not on here, include, 7mgte cressida, 5 sprinters (all with engine conversions).. my new daily driver.. a gz20 soarer... and a few others. Will try and orgainise everyone to get to the dyno day on sat. Can someone plase pm me the address as the thread has been deleted due to clash with offical event.

EDIT: For newcastle guys, There is a drift club in newcastle, if any of you guys want to contact me and a heap of other newcastle car enthusits (mainly drifters, but anything sexy (i.e no rice is the only rule), then jump on the forum, its in my sig.
Hope we can organise some time to meet up, we usually meet thursday nights on a weekly basis in town. Should come in and have a chat and organise footage for this thread.

I shot some DV footage at the dyno day, and got Pete to give me a hand too. My car wasn't running properly and put down some bad figures. Happy to offload a copy of what I have to your comp if you like.

All the footage on my video camera, I recorded some of it, and when I was shooting cars with the digital SLR I gave it to Pete to record. I'll try and make it in on Thurs night, I'll be in the burgundy MX6 if the Cressida isn't registered in time, otherwise I'll be in the Cressida. Just flag me down or something

Normo's idea is the smartest thing I've seen in this whole thread! hahaha. If people all need to get together it just makes organization suck and alot of people will miss out... All of y'all just make a little vid of yourself and your car, do a bit of self editing if you have vegas/premiere and the skills, or/then send it in to a certain person in your state who will put it all together.
By the way, I'm in, and I'd be happy to be the editor and video hoster for Vic.

Yeah well all I'm saying is all the people that can record their own vid, do it. If you can and want to edit it, do it. If you don't have a video camera, there's gonna be someone out there with one, and someone out there with a TV tuner card to rip it onto computer etc.
I think as an addition to the personal vids, we could have some group vids, like at the meets, bbq's and cruises that we all go on...
Anyway just my 2c...
